The last post

Oh the last post ...  time passed so so fast, I can’t believe it. Today I'm going to tell you about something I like to do, and it's reading, I'm always reading something new and I'm currently reading a very good book, it's called "dead souls" and it's about Chichikov, a gentleman of middle class and social position. Chichikov arrives in a small town and quickly, despite his limited funds, shows an ostentation of wealth and power, which will help him gain the contacts and influences he will need for his plan; his strange and mysterious plan: acquire dead souls. Chichikov's mission to acquire dead souls is a complicated plot to inflate his social position. He hopes to collect the legal property rights of the dead servants to inflate their apparent wealth and power. Once he acquires enough souls of the dead, the central government, according to the number of "servants" he has, will award him lands with what he will retire to a far...

6. Sociology

Ours career recently have a change of curriculum, in fact we are de first generation with that new curriculum so is a little difficult to think about changes in an structural way because we only know the programs of the subjects before having them, we can’t ask to people of 3er years because they don’t have the same curriculum so we discovered the dynamics of work only when we have the subjects. But I can talk about the subjects of the first year and in this case I think the big problem is referred to the workload and length of studies, for example history has so many lectures and that’s make impossibly to be up to day with the subject and with the others subjects, you can be the most organized person but you can’t. There is always a subject that’s have so much workload in relation to the others, this year is history again, so an restructuration of   the time that we have to dedicated to each subject it will be great.   And the other big problem and this is so much gener...

5. Please don't stop the music

Hi! Today I’m going to talk about music. The other day I was telling to a friend that music is so important in my life, I walk with music, I take my showers with music, I cook with music, I basically do all the things with music, except sleep. I think music have the power to express so many feelings that sometimes we don’t feel comfort to express, to ourselves and to other people. So music as an expression of what the people feels, is like history, an emotional history. When we think about other decades like 80’s or 70’s we always think in their music, and if we pay attention to the lyrics we are going to hear about topics and events of that period of time, just as there are rhythms specific for each decade. That’s why I don’t like commercial music because I really believe that music have to express feelings, ideas or political positioning of the people that live in that decade. For example, I love to listen music about 80’s in Chile groups like Sol y lluvia, Quilapayún, Inti-Ill...

4. After Sociology

Think about what I would like to do when I take my university degree, it is a bit difficult because there is still a lot of time left, but I would like to do a magister or some courses of the social work career, it is a career that I like a lot and I think that combining what we learn in sociology with what social workers learn is a sure success; I would like to do it in Chile and I think that the idea of a magister is what most catches my attention. Another area where I would like to do a specialization is in education, maybe sociology of education, or something similar. And of course, in feminism, I think sociology as a way of creating knowledge, but that knowledge only serves if it helps the people involved in the research. A specialization in gender issues would allow me to help some women to have better living and working conditions specifically. In this way, I believe that education and gender are the themes that are so related and at the same time are approached from socia...

3. Winter is here

Oh, is so difficult come back to class, and have all the things about the university in a short short period of time, seems like is going to be stressful and chaotic, and in effect is going to be like that in so many times, but we have to start this end of semester with motivation and disposition. We can do it classmates, in other ways we are going to collapse and we don’t want that. But there is something so beautiful happening right now, that I love it, I have always done it, and that’s the winter, ¡yay! I’m a hundred percent winter person, I love cold air, I love snow, I love snowballs fights and there’s something that I absolutely love more of this season, and that is the food. I grow up in a little town close to The Andes, and obviously is incredible cold so, warm food and warm drinks are essential to survive. I always remember my last year of high school because with my classmates we decided to save money to buy an electric kettle, brilliant idea. And I think there’s anot...

2. Best Holidays

My best holiday it was this summer. It was the first time I went on vacation with my friends to a place so far away from my home, we went to Chiloé for a little more than a week. I traveled with my friends Alexis and Rodrigo and once there, we got together with other friends who were in Chiloé; Karen, Coti, Ivan, Espe, Vale, Cris and Aline. It was very fun because we were 10 people living in a house, cooking for 10 and watching TV all together in the same room (having more rooms). We stayed at the house for 5 days touring Queilén and then we started another trip to Ancud, where we ate soup and camped on the beach. That day there was a beautiful sunset. It has been the best vacation because it was very fun to live and share with my friends and see the beautiful landscapes of Chiloé, Also, I love winter and being in the winter, in summer, it was something that I really liked.

1. Egypt

One of the many countries that I would like to visit is Egypt, since I was a little girl I dreamed about how this people build that pyramids only with their bodies and minds and how perfect they are. I’m in love about their history; they have some of the earliest developments of writing, paintings, urbanization, agriculture, etc. It’s always interesting to me read about myths and legends of Egyptian goddess. If I go there I definitely visit the valley of kings to see the tomb of Twosret and Setnakht, the pyramids of Giza and the temple of Abu Simbel to see the statues of Ramesses. I would like to study and live there for a couple of years; their culture and their religion are things that blow my mind, I think I can learn so much about their custom through the people, I mean the essence of the country is the people who lives there, and how they lives their life’s. And is always better learn about things doing those things.
